Review of A Serbian Film (2010) by Craig W — 19 May 2012
I really have no words for this film nor do I feel like I can properly rate it, it's just messed up. It's incredibly slow moving and dare I say boring for the most part and the twisted scenes are not quite as bad as I had heard they were but yes, it seriously pushes some boundaries. I'm not easily phased by things I watch in films, I can pretty much sit through any vile film and it won't leave a mark on me but this had at the very least one scene I found myself turning away from.
I'm really not sure what the director was trying to achieve here at all, I've certainly never seen the kinds of things this film has to offer before and quite frankly I'd rather not see them again but it's so poorly acted and shot and the scenes are not majorly graphic and are merely used as cheap and horrible shocks but whatever he was trying to achieve I don't know, it's just...I don't actually have anymore to say, if you want to see it for your own morbid curiousity then go ahead but personally, I wouldn't watch this again.
