Review of A Serbian Film (2010) by Joseph F — 02 Jan 2016
_REWATCH REVIEW_.
Well, it's still as shocking as the first time I saw it! The movie follows a retired porn star, Milosh, who is given an opportunity to earn a lot of money by filming an art porn movie, he accepts because his family needs the money, but he isn't given any information about what he is starring in. The movie's story is very intriguing as you find out more and more about the organization behind the movie. I really liked the mysterious feeling the movie had, and once you find out mostly everything about the movie, it is everything but dissapointing! The whole situation escalates to such a level that your jaw will be dropping multiple times throughout the last 40 minutes of the movie. The movie is filled with over-the-top violence and sexual acts which might make it unwatchable for some people, but all those gory scenes are so well shot and the effects are brilliant! I never believed there could be such a sick movie coming from Serbia. The acting was great and, except the kid, I don't think there were any bad actors. The movie obviously had a big budget and you can tell by the stylish scenes and amazing effects. The soundtrack is very surreal, almost like if Silent Hill met Quake. All in all, this movie is NOT for the faint of heart. I would recommend it ONLY to fans of this genre, as I see only that kind of people could enjoy the movie.
