There are good films, really good films, and then great ones. This is a great one. Moral complexity combined with deeply realized characters, totally real acting, and a perfectly clarified and emphasized story line.
Right up there with "Raise the Red Lantern" as art, and artists, trying to makes sense of an oppressive culture.
