Review of A Separation (2011) by Jim B — 24 Mar 2012
Astounding, very complex yet utterly real. The acting is perfect, the screenplay profoundly civilized. It is critical that there is no music behind this film, only the sounds of people speaking and living in Tehran, like all of us, wishing to do the right thing and hold our self-respect, but in a moral universe that is far from perfectly obvious.
It left me speechless.
