Review of A Separation (2011) by Joel A — 25 Jul 2012
A far as I know, I believe this is the first film from Iran ever to win the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film....and a stunning film it is.
It's primary story is the separation of an Iran couple & a key event that challenges everyone's moral views despite cultures & religion.
The acting is sensational, so realistic & underplayed perfectly even the child actors put to shame most American child actors currently. It more importantly shows the humane & normality of the Irani people & they are webbed into a very thought provoking story. In parts a little slow but overall quite fascinating, nice to see a film from a struggling country to be honored so justifiably.
