Review of A Separation (2011) by Wendy K — 04 Oct 2012
Iranian family drama, won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2011. Fantastic film about a middle class man who may or may not have killed a low class woman's child during her pregnancy.
It's a very angry tense film about morals and family relationships... I expected a slower but engaging movie, but this movie was pretty quick. The cutting/editing and the swift bickering dialogue really helps to keep your attention.
My only complaint is that some parts near the beginning and near the end were so effing long and made me really antsy. And the man is the biggest asshole ever.
