Review of A Separation (2011) by Luis Y — 07 Jan 2013
This film just shows how much family and religion mean so much to families to Iran. After a slow first half, in which not much was there in the way of plot, the movie heats up and and finishes with a booming climax once Nadar hires care for his father.
I didn't see how the other family would fit into the plot, but the scenes in which they are tearing each other apart with the judge are so emotional and the cinematography and editing are top notch it brings you into that room.
It took me so long but I got the big emotional payoff that was warranted throughout.
