Review of A Separation (2011) by Matt H — 26 Jun 2014
(Sorry for my bad english) There is one hell of a lot of people who think Iran is full of nuclear threat and adultery punishment. And yeah, there is some of that, but the truth is that Iran is one more land, full of fascination, love, justice, morality and life.
And people trying to do the right thing with life. The honesty and sincerity is overwhelmingly complex in this story, where the integrity looks to be inherently crooked. The film's story demonstrates that the inflexible application of the law may frustrate the spirit of the law.
This is true in all nations under all religions and all laws. Laws are an attempt to regulate hypothetical situations before they may arise. If laws were replaced by principles, they might be a better fit with human nature.
