Review of A Separation (2011) by Jennifer S — 07 Mar 2012
So many layers to this award winning film. Our own biases are flipped on their head....assumptions turned over. We were front and center - looking at a modern or perhaps secular Iranian family in Iran.
This film highlights a glimpse of humanity not dissimilar to our own. The stress of taking care of those ill in our families, half-truths, the burden of finances, the tangled web of family and love and the conflicts that are presented.
