Review of A Scanner Darkly (2006) by Ian R — 13 Jan 2010
I really enjoyed this movie. There are a few cliche things about it, but the acting is superb, the story is interesting and fairly unique, even if the moral is overdone... the anti-drug overtones can be a little obvious, as well.
But the style and dialogue of this movie, as well as the animation (which adds just a bit more strength to the feeling of a drug-induced haze) set this movie apart. Robert Downey Jr. particularly stood out to me.
