Animated? its not animated, its heavily filtered! Maybe it had some cheap-ass (done in five minutes) after-effects to fill in the blanks where the cg would have been, but for the most part the director used a computer program to rotoscope this film and then had the audacity to call it art.

For the movie itself? I watched it after reading the book and give it a solid "meh" meaning if you have never read the book and dont plan on it, its interesting, and most importantly, short enough to give you a good summary.

If you have read the book then.... well the only benefit you will see is Robert Downey Jr. playing a pretty good Barris.
