Review of A Scanner Darkly (2006) by Raphael M — 27 Apr 2012
A faithful adaptation of a very paranoid novel. A Scanner Darkly is one of writer Philip K. Dick's tell-tale of a dystopic future, and is translated almost seamlessly by director/screenwriter Richard Linklater's witty and sometimes perverse script and is complimented perfectly by his distinctive rotoscoping technique.
A Scanner Darkly is not an easy watch, the subject matter at hand may be relative but it pushes the topic to polar extremes and the dialogue requires more than a passive watcher's point-of-view. If you can get over these minor hurdles then you will enjoy your experience with A Scanner Darkly much as I did.
