A brilliant piece of Danish cinema. I hadn't heard anything about this film before seeing it, which I always find refreshing. I love period films and was totally absorbed by this beautiful, tragic story.
Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) was excellent in his role and Alicia Vikander had a captivating onscreen beauty. If you are sick of some of the garbage that Hollywood has been serving up lately, go and see this film.
You will be pleasantly surprised.
