Review of A Royal Affair (2012) by Antonio A — 09 Feb 2013
A very successful Danish historical drama with a fascinating adapted screenplay that works in many levels as a love triangle, an exciting political thriller and the tale of a strained, touching friendship. The production design feels authentic and it's all around gorgeous and lavish, and the three main performances anchor everything formidably.
As a period film, A Royal Affair immerses us in its past completely, leaving us curious and wanting to learn much more about Denmark's history.
