Review of A Royal Affair (2012) by Michael G — 26 Apr 2013
I watched this movie on Netflix, which by some new fangled notion called Blue Tooth, it is transferred to my tv . The movie is so fine; acting, scenery, costumes, cinematography, and important to me, it bears a historical resonance in the context of "The Age Of Enlightenment", one can't help but reflect on that period which spawned our own American Revution. I wonder how many Americans, when viewing a movie like this can conjure up images of our own Founding Fathers, all sons of the Age of Enlightenment when they carved out an entirely new notion of a nation which confronted and proposed a reconciliation of the lines between the aristocracy and the poor, the haves and the have nots and the notion if true education, versus our current belief that college is a place to "have fun".
What have we truly wrought?
