Review of A Royal Affair (2012) by Aaron S — 06 Jan 2014
This is the best period piece I've seen since Braveheart. The more I think about it, the more I realize how much I enjoyed watching it and how well it was done. It's surprisingly accurate, which you will find hard to believe if you watch it.
And the performances by Mads Mikkelsen (one of my favorites) as Struensee, the "Enlightened Man," and Mikkel Boe Følsgaard as the crazy king were perfect. It's Danish; they're pretty awesome at making good movies so don't let that sway you.
