Review of A Room with a View (1986) by Jenny D — 10 Nov 2008
Until recently I would have always said that this was my favourite film. It's a charming romantic story of two young people coming of age and being thrown together by their respective families. It takes a lot of courage, and a bit of sage advice from an old friend for Lucy to realise that sometimes doing the "right" thing is wrong.
One also needs to follow ones heart. I love this films because in a very real sense I have been there. I was Lucy Honeychurch torn between the lover that society would approve of and the one that my heart chose.
Like her it took me perhaps too long to realise my truth. So watch this film and reflect on the value of true love.
