Review of A Room with a View (1986) by Denise H — 10 Apr 2010
Helena Bonham Carter was magnificent in this movie. Was not as pleased with many of the other characters, however. Merchant Ivory films can sometimes "drag" (script bogs down the rhythm of the movie) and several times I was shaking my head going "I'm lost!".
Daniel Day-Lewis was the perfect English snob and I grew tired of his character and longed to see him leave the vicinity ASAP. Decent movie but not worth 5 stars from this viewer.
