Review of A Room for Romeo Brass (1999) by Matt C — 11 Oct 2012
On repeat viewing I'm not 100% sure that Considine's Morell completely works. It's a tough balancing act to side with a comedy character and then completely turn his motivation and our feeling towards him as a viewer and I'm not completely sure that they pull it off.
Setting that aside though this is a warm, funny and touching film, and a solid entry in Meadow's back catalogue. The relationship between Romeo and Knocks is the real strength of the piece.
