Review of A Quiet Place Part II (2021) by Faxthtax — 30 Jun 2021
I liked the first. Plenty of spacious scenes that played with the absence of music score and let quiet suspense work the viewers.
Part II starts off good with a look into the origin of the arrival of the hunters. Story wise it moves slowly after that. We already established the characters with an introduction of Cillian Murphy whom I think carried most of this movie with a great performance.
With an hour and a half to bring the story forward, it walks slowly.
The kids in the movie do their upmost to make as much noise and mess as they can. They are ignorant and literally not that smart in their choices. Especially that kid. The deaf daughter gives zero F's and wanders out of her own.
Basically the movie establish little new in terms of a package to provide for a developing experience and ends pretty much in the same way as the first by rigging itself for a part 3 (apparently already confirmed by Krasinski).
Minor disappointed with this one, but still it maintains suspense like the first one.
