Review of A Quiet Place (2018) by Alexis C — 18 Apr 2018

I'm not a fan of horror movies, seeing as my own shadow terrifies me, but this anxiety inducing movie was worth it. The silence is more terrifyingly unnerving than I ever could've imagined. You're constantly on the edge of your seat, jumping at every little sound.

It's exhilarating, and I would definitely watch this movie again. As far as horror goes, I think this movie falls more into the suspense column. On one hand, I was terrified while watching it but on the other hand, the ending gave me a sort of peace that stopped this movie from giving me the full horror experience.

Don't get me wrong, I wish every movie, horror included, had an ending that was this creative, open-ended, and mind settling, but it did take away part of the nightmare-inducing fear that horror movies often have.

Now, don't let this discourage you from watching it. A quiet place was wonderful, and I 10/10 recommend everyone watch it when they get a chance!
