Review of A Quiet Place (2018) by Tim W — 18 Apr 2018
It had me in the first 5 minutes. Real stakes. Creepy and tense, simple yet effective. Sure there were plenty of jump scares but they didn't feel cheap and unearned. There were elements of Alien, Tremors, Signs, and I Am Legend in this (hmm, not very original I guess).
The sound design was quite effective. The acting was pretty great, even the kids weren't bad. I liked the creature design. Try to ignore the plot holes.
