Review of A Quiet Place (2018) by Andrew R — 20 Apr 2018
While I can't speak toward the 'horror' aspect of the film, as I just don't scare from movies, I can say that this movie handles tension to near perfection. The use of silence to build that tension is so well done, that you, as an audience member, feel like you're in there with the characters, trying your hardest not to make a sound.
This is one movie you're probably best eating a nice big lunch or dinner beforehand and skip the popcorn or snacks. The only minor issue is that, while the creature is well done, it borrows a bit too heavily from a couple of other creatures of note, especially one of note I won't spoil, right down to its weakness.
