Review of A Quiet Place (2018) by Joshua J — 23 Apr 2018
Led by outstanding mostly-silent performances from its cast, A Quiet Place surpasses all expectations. John Krasinski shines in both the lead role and the director's chair. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are all fantastic as well.
The creatures have unique and fascinating designs, and are expertly established as threats. Probably the best part of the film is the sound design, which is made more noticeable by the near-absence of spoken dialogue, and the creatures' noises are believable and terrifying.
Honestly, this is the best horror movie I've seen in a long time, and I can't wait to see what John Krasinski's next project is.
