Review of A Quiet Place (2018) by Rory M — 26 Apr 2018
A Quiet Place offers an inherently original premise, something all too rare in horror these days, and the result is something truly entertaining and truly unsettling. It has all the jump scares and features of horror you'd expect, but perhaps lacks some explanation as to how the family have survived as long as they have, building what they have, in complete silence especially considering how quickly - and from moment to moment - they are threatened.
The music, notably the exploitation of silence, is heart stopping, every bit of tension throwing you from your seat. Seriously enjoyable and intelligent horror film.
