Review of A Private War (2018) by Arth J — 18 Jan 2019
I lost words to describe this movie. It was well executed, weaved together different stories Marie did beautifully. I have no idea how they managed to stage it all and to film it with such vividness. It brought war from oneï¿ 1/2(TM)s imagination to reality, showed how helpless and painful wars are and as you are struggling with the depiction and want to turn your eyes away, Marie, in great contrast, showed such courage to persuade the truth and bring it to the world.
One line from the movie stuck with me, ï¿ 1/2there are old reporters and there are brave reporters, but we donï¿ 1/2(TM)t see old and brave reporters.ï¿ 1/2?ï¿ 1/2? This makes me want to salute to the selfless people who works in war zones and in this case especially to war correspondents. They see awful things and report it so that one day things may change and we wonï¿ 1/2(TM)t have to see it ever again.
Cannot recommend this movie enough.
