Review of A Private Function (1984) by Sunil J — 01 Aug 2011
As a funny little slice of life this film is fantastic. It is a lot like the dark british comedies of the 1950's. It is one part black comedy but at the same time sweet. The cast of goofy characters are all funny and how they all interact with one another in their small town is very funny.
Michael Palin is very funny here and Maggie Smith is really terrific as well. Very enjoyable, dry British comedy.
