Review of A Prairie Home Companion (2006) by Jeremy W — 21 Oct 2007
Toe-tappingly brilliant, this is Robert Altman at his best. The dialogue is off the cuff, often two people speak at the same time. It's a heartfelt story about the last days of a country music playing radio hall in Minnesota.
The characters are electric but shining through are Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin who play sisters and who will break your heart with their songs and stories. A fitting last movie for a movie legend.
