Review of A Prairie Home Companion (2006) by Songeehn C — 19 Apr 2008
Robert Altman's tribute to Garrison Keillor's longtime radio show. This is more of a faux-concert movie that utilizes the actual theater and band from the radio show. All of the actors played their own instruments and sang their own songs, generously sprinkling in performers from the real show.
Better appreciated after doing some research into the source material. Great camera work that captures the performances nicely; Robert Altman's last film.
