Review of A Prairie Home Companion (2006) by Ricardo V — 30 Oct 2007
There's nothing wrong with the film. let me get out there and say it. I even enjoyed virginia madson's mysterious ghostly character, I accepted it and felt it was appropriate. the film is fun, has good music and is about a part of american culture that previously I never really knew existed.
the acting is fine, the directing is fine. to have this be altman's swan song, it's sad, not because of the film but because he was such a great director. this film won't stand up as one of his best, but who cares, his place is cemented in cinematic history.
