Review of A Prairie Home Companion (2006) by Maggie B — 14 May 2008
My single star rating here is not meant to convey any disrespect for Garrison Keillor (who I think it quite funny and brilliant in his own right) or to Robert Altman (who's esteemed career is well known); instead, it is meant to show my utter horror that this film got made.
Don't get me wrong, the soundtrack for the film is unbelievable, but the storyline is so thin (and unfunny) that it should make Keillor blush in shame. Please do keep tuning into the radio version of Keillor's show, but for the sake of good cinema do not waste your time renting this train wreck of a film.
