Review of A Prairie Home Companion (2006) by Scott W — 08 Dec 2008

I liked this movie. I mean, I really liked this movie. And I'm not sure why.

As far as I can tell it is just the radio show done with real actors (a good cast), a minimal script, and a very thin plot line.

But it is still, somehow, charming to watch. The cast is super. The music is fun. And it just somehow works. Well, at least for me. But since I can't quite pinpoint why it is I like this movie so much, I find it difficult to say if anyone else I know would also enjoy it, or would just find it boring.

In any case, if you are ever stuck in your car on a Saturday night around 6pm (eastern), browse the radio dial and see if you can find the show. It's a great way to pass the miles.
