Review of A Prairie Home Companion (2006) by Paul D — 08 Mar 2009
Robert Altman's last film perfectly encapsulates the long-running radio variety show and fits in many songs from the repertoire. Kevin Kline is on good comic form as Guy Noir too, but you shouldn't get hung up waiting for a big message: this is just a sweet little film taking a snapshot of an outmoded and deeply unfashionable artform that still brings pleasure to its many listeners.
