Review of A Poem Is a Naked Person (1974) by Peter F — 02 Jul 2015
Les Blank's abstract documentary was something truly radical for it's time, and it's easy to see why it's taking the film over 40 years to get a proper release. Rather than simply play as a concert film (although it does at times), Les Blank seems more intrigued to capture the musings of Russel and cohorts, while also getting some really nice shots of nature.
Fans of the Maysles brothers will really get a kick out of this.
