Review of A Place in the Sun (1951) by Damian J — 22 Sep 2009
Taken from Dreiser's An American Tragedy, this classic from George Stevens again pairs him with star Liz Taylor, as the woman whose beauty causes the downfall of a prominent social figure (Montgomery Clift in one of his greatest screen roles).
Together, he and Taylor are sizzling, and Shelly Winters provides the perfect foil for Taylor as the spurned woman. Excellent movie.
