Review of A Place in the Sun (1951) by Tim C — 13 Jan 2010
One of the best dramas from the fifties I have ever seen, and all I could think about how hot Montgomery Clift is and how intense he is as an actor. George Stevens masterfully directs this story of a poor man who wants to succeed and be rich, and climbs ahead steadily, but whose past tries to prevent him from reaching success.
He loves two women, Elizabeth Taylor who in this movie blossoms into a sexy leading lady, a rich heiress friend of his wealthy uncle's and a plain Jane played by a young Shelley Winters who is just as intense as Clift is.
You must see this movie!
