Review of A Perfect World (1993) by Javor B — 26 Jun 2011
A deep film about human psychology and the grey morality of man. Like pretty much every better film directed by Eastwood, this film has no obvious flaws. It's not perfect, but you cannot really pinpoint anything in it that doesn't work to at least some degree.
The film has great characters - Kevin Costner performs especially well - interesting plot and an ending that's pure Eastwood being kind of a downer, but with a sense of finality and rightness. But really, it's just a film about the growing fellowship and bond between a man and a boy, stuck into an impossibly hard situation.
And that's all it needs to be. Highly recommended.
