Review of A Perfect Murder (1998) by Justin N — 08 Apr 2009
A remake of an old Hitchcock film, this film had all of the atmosphere of a Hitchcock without the suberb setup. To be sure, the suspense in this movie is great, but it takes about twice as much time to get going than it should, especially when we already know EXACTLY what is about to happen.
The acting is pretty average--I'd really love to see Michael Douglas play anything other than creepy rich guy. But we do get to see Viggo Mortensen before he got famous and that was fun. Once the action gets going this movie is pretty entertaining so I'm giving it three stars, though it's honestly probably not that good of a movie.
