Review of A Perfect Getaway (2009) by Evan C — 02 Aug 2010
I saw many previews for this movie and I thought it would fit my taste for a good who-done-it type movie. The movie ended up being better than my expectations, but it also isn't a great film either.
The plot was interesting and suspenseful, although a bit slow moving at the beginning. The movie also isn't very original, if you've ever read or seen And Then There Were None, it¿s pretty much that type of story where the movie introduces several characters but doesn't clearly establish which one(s) is/are the criminals.
I give the director a lot of credit because it didn't appear that this was a large budget film, but he made the most of what he had and produce a decent movie. The acting is once again decent because of the budget, there are obviously no big name actors are in the movie.
I originally gave this movie 4 stars, however, that changed because I thought back about the movie and realized that it wasn't memorable at all, and wouldn't even be enjoyable to watch a second time, not just because you know what would happen, but because the movie is too cut and dry.
It¿s worth seeing once for any thriller fan but this is nowhere near a mystery classic by any standards.
