Review of A Perfect Getaway (2009) by Lee K — 10 Oct 2010
Loaded with plot twists, if that is your bag? This is a pretty good who dunnit type thriller! However that being said this film is loaded with plot holes in the first half. Can't say much more then that without ruining it fer ya! Worth a watch, yes! but wait for a rainy day and there is nothing else to rent at Blockbuster.
Steve Zahn and Mila Jovovich play honeymooning newlyweds who decide to backpack through one of the hawaiian islands. Along the way they keep hearing reports from the local news that a killer couple have been taking out newlywed couples on one of the islands.
They try to put this disparing news behind them as so not to ruin their nice holiday that i'm sure cost a fortune! Sorry I call a spade a spade and Hawaii isn't cheap?! They bump into some other couples along the way and amongst these couples they are all trying to decide who is the guilty party? A honeymoon nightmare is what they get as they try to just survive! Timothy Olyphant who is such a cool onscreen presence and can play good and bad dudes does a fantastic job here.
Steve Zahn was admirable in this although unbelivable. this guy should stick to doing wacky comedies cause that seems to be his niche. Nice to see Jovavich in something either then a futuristic action or blowing away the walking dead.
Worth a watch.
