Review of A Perfect Getaway (2009) by Thomas W — 11 Nov 2011
Within the first half hour of this movie I guessed who the killer was. However, this movie was so full of plot holes that it made me feel, a lot of the time, my guess was wrong. The killer couple consistantly talks about how the other couple "must be the killers," but if they knew it was them, why would it have mattered? And yet there are more plot holes than that. The flashback sequence makes very little sense because it goes by so quickly and you can only catch two or three things that go on in it (couple 1 are the killers, couple 2 is about to get engaged...).
Overall this movie was weak. The killers were revealed too soon and the "run away from the killer" sequence lacked interest at all. You knew [spoiler] Olyphant's character after being shot in the head was still alive because, as Sanchez said, "he's really hard to kill." Tie that all together with some crystal meth and this movie is just another bad American horror movie. Who could have guessed?
