I haven't seen the movie, but I already see a problem with the plot. If these dumb fucks are in charge, then why are they so monumentally stupid that they cannot craft or create a rope out of existing supplies.

Do they not understand you can create a make shift rope replacement out of practically everything around them. It can't possibly be the whole movie searching for a rope, with all the high class military equipment around them.

All the strands of wire, clothing, and everything all around them. I guess they don't have plastic bags, duct tape, fencing, electric cords, dental floss, belts, neck ties, tons of shawls, water hoses etc, etc.
