Review of A Passage to India (1984) by Alec B — 07 Nov 2013
Yes it lacks the near perfection of David Lean's earlier epics, but that shouldn't deter anyone from watching it. A good (not great) film from Lean is still much better that a lot of other stuff out there.
Its a well crafted adaptation of E.M. Foster's novel that is full of small moments of brilliance, mostly in relation to the way Lean uses stillness and silence to capture the beauty of India.
