Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989) by Jesse M — 27 Mar 2015
Although one of the least liked, I happen to appreciate this film tackling a very relatable issue amongst teenagers which Is teen pregnancy. I think the idea of exploring the subconscious within an unborn child is fascinating.
Technically this movie was pure imagination run amok which I dug. If you notice, the tone goes much darker with a Freddy hidden in darkness. Visually gothic. Doesnt have much of a body count but they made up for it with story and conceptual substance.
Not the best Nightmare film, but one of the most interesting and visually appealing entries in the series that keeps proving that you can make a slasher film with creativity and good ideas.
