Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989) by Chris R — 28 Jul 2009
Now I know everyone rips this sequel a new one, but this reviewer didn't have as bad of a time watching as everyone else. First off, the complaints. Acting is bad and the characters are unlikeable and stupid, with the exception of Alice and her baby, Jacob.
Freddy cracks too many jokes. And lastly, the film has a ridiculous storyline, yes even for NOES it does. Now for the stuff I enjoyed. The atmosphere and sets are very dark like the first film, and some have almost a gothic look.
Second, it's nice to see that they were trying to go out of the box in terms of story. And finally, I enjoyed the nightmares and kills in this one. Nightmare 5 isn't going to break any records, and most will say It's a piece of shit, but I gotta admit it's a piece of shit that I have some affection for.
