With exception to the last one, which was one of the better ones, this one certainly doesn't break any boundries. You can have a good movie but also it can be pointless if there is no evolution of story or characters, much like this installment.
Yes alice has a baby, but I felt nothing has been gained in the series. So far the first one is still the best in the series.
