Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) by Aussie C — 12 Apr 2009
The Dream Master is a decent but unspectacular Nightmare film which does feature some great deaths (as usual) and some tight pacing but little else. Renny Harlin has always been an overrated director but he does a serviceable job here.
Lisa Wilcox does get hotter as the film goes along which is always a good thing. Englund is stellar as usual in the role that made him famous but there is little else of note here. A great death by waterbed scene gives us hope that this one will be great but it doesn't quite get there.
