Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) by Chris H — 21 Jul 2010
"A Nightmare on Elm Street 4" furthers the story of the Elm Street kids as they try to destroy the evil dream demon Freddy Krueger before it's too late. Renny Harlin's directing is rather good in this installment and his approach to action definitely stands out in the film.
Unfortunately, the 90s cheese factor is rather high in this sequel, and it suffers because of it. I was going to give it 2.5 stars because I found this film kinda mediocre compared to the other ANOES sequels, but oh well.
I do enjoy that they introduced Alice as the new main character though, she's a bit more on the introverted side and has to break out of her shell to fight Freddy, but Lisa Wilcox is both beautiful and talented.
Recommended.
