Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) by Hildur Karine G — 25 Mar 2012
The franchise really turns towards the campy wink-at-the-screen level Freddy we all now know the character for. The degeneration toward self parody is somewhat disheartening but the effects are good and the dream sequences are all there.
Connecting solidly with the previous movie was very encouraging even if it was mostly dispensed with right away, why bother really but at least it showed some love for the series. Still watchable and enjoyable and in the top 3 of the series for sure.
