Getting into the comedic slasher flick (i mean, more that it already was/was starting to be) Nightmare on Elm Street 4 does the job so far as entertainment as a slasher flick, Freddy is already iconic and incredibly enjoyable to watch, and he still is here.

It's always fun to see what Freddy can and is going to do inside the often unique dream of certain characters, although around this point in the series, pieces of meat.

But its still fun to see what dreams these people have and what happens in them and how they connect to the character's personality, no matter how obvious, and of course its fun to see how Freddy kills them within said dream.

A major drawback and possible hint of a main story progression through series that is running out of ideas starts very early, when a bunch of new characters at a high school our shoved in our face and we are told to like them and watch them as we see them un-cover and re-defeat Freddy and his past like we've seen before.

This is pretty annoying especially since the last movie built up really interesting dynamic characters of which all are supposed to represent something and all are we're individual from each other, and it was fun to see how they use there personal attributes to take on problems, but like I said, these characters are replaced by new ones that just re-do the whole plot again, and even worse, some of which contain the same personalities of previous characters, so, like you would expect, the personality's are more dull and for simple show.

It's kinda something you need to ignore and just plain get used to, as it's something that's going to progress and keep happening through the next few films, but this movie is fun, and so are the rest, and for a film like this (as to say, a nightmare on elm street film has decided to be like this) it's something that can easily be ignored, especially when you are enjoying yourself.
